I'm composing this late on Saturday night, after watching Joker. It was screened as part of a trial for a new community cinema in my home town of Morpeth, and I really enjoyed the experience. To me, the film was no more morally problematic than my favourite novel, Crime and Punishment. It's a provocative film; there's plenty to discuss in it, and I'll be thinking about it for a whilel

As I explain in my weeknote, it's been quite the week. So I'm going to leave it there for now. I hope you enjoy this week's article, microcast, and link roundup!
